Bowling Green, KY – After a dominant performance to open the season, Rider Trumble has been named the Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon.

Trumble went 5-0 on the weekend to capture the 165-pound title at the Pepsi Patriot Open. The freshman recorded a pair of pins, two decisions, and a forfeit victory en route to the championship. He opened the tournament with a first-period pin over Ayden Wilson (Lourdes), who entered the weekend ranked No. 23 at 165 pounds.

Trumble followed with a 12-7 decision against Marian's (Ind.) Emmanuel Akpadija before earning a second pin over Logan Saller of Cumberland (Tenn.). After advancing by forfeit in the semifinals, he closed out the event with a 5-0 decision over Southeastern's (Fla.) Xavier Barnhart in the finals.

Trumble's performance secured his first individual title of the season and the first MSC weekly honor of his career.

Trumble and the rest of the #8 Patriots will return to the mat Friday November 7^th for their first conference dual of the season at Midway. The match is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. ET.
