Bowling Green, KY – The Cumberlands men's cross country team has showcased excellence both on the course and in the classroom this season. 12 Patriots earned Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced Wednesday. The total ties the program record and leads all MSC teams for the most honorees this season.
Five Patriots earned the distinction for the first time — Ryan Ehrler, Nate Powers, Jackson Lowe, Bartosz Trojniar, and Lucien Beardsley.
Noah Loeser, Hauke Trost, Jon Eades, Max Young, Cole Bennett, and Reed Richardson each collected the award for the second consecutive year, while Dillan Melchiore was recognized for the third straight season.
To be eligible for the MSC Academic All-Conference Team, student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) across all completed academic terms.
In addition to his Academic All-Conference recognition, Noah Loeser was also named to the MSC Champions of Character Team. The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport, honoring student-athletes nominated by their coaches for demonstrating leadership on and off the field, as well as embodying the NAIA's five core character values.
The Patriots return to Bowling Green this weekend for the Mid-South Conference Championships. Cumberlands enters the meet ranked 3rd in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll and seek to capture their third straight conference title.
