Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots men's swimming & diving team notched one school record and posted seven wins, including having a trio of swimmers earn best of stroke titles. Cumberlands earned the 94-41 win over Asbury Friday night at the Patriot Aquatic Center.

The Patriots opened the meet by pulling away to win the 6x50 free relay. Cumberlands had all six of their swimmers post a 22.57 or better on the relay to clock a winning time of 2:10.73.  Competing for UC was Fabrizio Pacioni, Luke Rich, Adam Geddis, Zsombor Bene, Brandon Holder, and Juan Ramirez Zapata. 

Diver Ethan Crutchfield broke the school record on the one-meter board as he recorded 251.35 points over six dives.  Grayson Sturgeon tallied a career-best 208.90 to hit the NAIA "A" standard.

Pacioni followed up the relay by posting a winning time of 4:52.67 in the 500 free.   Ruthiik Satti led the Patriots to a one-two finish in the 200 IM touching the wall in 1:58.61, ahead of Jeremiah Koenig who went 2:00.91 to finish runner-up.

The second half of the meet feature three rounds of elimination style racing where the slowest two times in each round didn't advance.  Strong racing by the Patriots led to a trio of winners.

Brandon Holder led things off by winning the 50 back.  He went 24.18 in the semifinals, before clocking a 23.78 in the finals to secure the win.

It was an all Patriot final in the 50 breast as Koenig and Rich outlasted the field.  The finals came down to the wire as Koenig edged out for the win, touching the wall in 27.05. 

In the 50 free, Adam Geddis and Arda Mutlu posted the fastest two times in each of the three rounds.  Geddis pulled away for the win in the finals as he went 21.22, while Mutlu clocked a 22.13. 

Juan Ramirez Zapata reached the finals of the 50 fly and finished with a time of 23.44 to place runner-up.

Cumberlands returns to the water on Friday, November 21, when they travel to Danville, KY to take part in the Centre College Invite.
