Bowling Green, KY – For the second time this season, Micah Miller has been named the Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week following another dominant outing, this time at the Wasp Open, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Miller, ranked #9 at 160 lbs, continued her early-season surge by capturing the tournament title with a perfect 4-0 record, recording three first-period falls and closing the day with a decisive tech fall in the championship match. Her performance helped lead the eighth-ranked Patriots to eight total podium finishes in Emory, VA.
Miller opened her run with a fall in 1:46 over Kelynn Dunn (Unattached), immediately establishing her momentum. She followed with an even quicker pin, sticking Margaret Page (Emory & Henry) in just 53 seconds to advance to the semifinals. The junior kept her pace rolling, securing her third fall of the day by pinning Reise Roach (Frostburg State) in 1:21.
In the 160 lbs final, Miller showcased her most complete performance of the tournament, overpowering Taylor Williams (Pembroke RTC) in an 11-1 tech fall. Behind three two-point takedowns and a four-point attack, Miller dominated from whistle to whistle to secure the first-place finish.
Miller's title at the Wasp Open marks her second tournament win of the season and further highlights her rise as one of the top competitors in the nation at her weight.
The Patriots will be back in action at the National Duals, held January 9–10 in Cedar Falls, IA.
