LYNCHBURG, VA – The Patriots capped the Liberty Kickoff with a strong second day of competition on Friday, highlighted by a school record and three national standards from the sprint group, along with solid finishes in the final stages of the heptathlon.
 
Travion Dotson delivered the performance of the meet by winning the 60-meter dash in 6.71, earning an NAIA A standard and breaking the UC school record. His time marked the Patriots' first men's A cut of the indoor season and stood as one of the top sprint marks of the weekend.
 
The momentum carried into the 200 meters, where Roy Miller made his Patriots debut with a 21.45 to place first among UC athletes and hit the NAIA B standard. Dotson added his second national mark of the day by crossing the line in 21.58, also under the B standard. Jermaine Thompson followed with a time of 22.16, and Grayson Rahbany ran 22.93 to round out the group's efforts.
 
In the 400 meters, Noah Kincade led UC with a time of 50.13, while Zion Pruitt added a 52.44 effort as the Patriots continued to build depth across the sprint squad.
 
The Patriots also closed out the heptathlon with the final three events. Seth Massie ran 9.15 in the 60-meter hurdles, cleared 4.15 meters in the pole vault, and finished the meet with a 1000-meter time of 3:11.39 to end the day with 4,791 points, placing fifth in Group B.

Jelle Golbach added another strong multi-event showing, running 9.05 in the hurdles, clearing 3.65 meters in the pole vault, and closing the meet in 3:12.48 in the 1000 meters. His final score of 4,732 points placed him sixth overall and gave UC two finishers among the top six.

The Patriots will now shift their focus to Saturday's Commonwealth Opener in Louisville where they will return to action for the third meet of the weekend.
