Box Score Harrogate, TN – The #23 Patriots Women's Tennis team fell to NCAA D1 foe Southeast Missouri State on Saturday morning, 4-1.
The Redhawks secured the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches.
Karen Kondo fought hard in #1 singles, taking Lere Valeeva to three sets. After dropping the first set, Kondo bounced back with a 6-2 win in set two. The senior would fall 10-7 in the third.
Rion Yanuma scored the only point in the match for the Patriots in #6 singles. The freshman dominated her match against Claudia Casas with scores of 6-0, 6-0.
The Redhawks won two more matches to secure the victory, while the match was left unfinished.
UC returns to action Friday February 21st – Sunday February 23rd for the Georgia Gwinnett College Invitational.
