Ypsilanti, MI – Consistent play throughout the 72-hole 2025 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships led Cumberlands to a 12
th place finish, Friday afternoon at Eagle Crest Golf Course. The Patriots carded a 1,242 (+90) at the tournament and moved up one spot on the final day.
UC recorded a 309 (+21), 308 (+20), and a 311 (+23) over the final three rounds of the championship.
Emily Allen and
Ainslee Cruce was the Patriots top finishers as they finished tied for 36
th overall with a 308 (+20). Allen, the senior, opened the tournament with an 80 (+8), before posting UC's top score in the second round finishing with a 75 (+3). In that round, Allen birdied her second and seventh hole of the round to be even par at the turn. The Shelbyville, KY native followed that up with a 74 (+2) in the third round, which featured four birdies. Allen closed out the tournament with three birdies and a 79 (+9).
Cruce stormed up 12 spots in the individual standings after carding a 72 (E) in the final round. The sophomore sank birdies on holes 13 and 5 to go along with 14 pars. Cruce lowered her score in each of the final three rounds tallying a 78 (+6) and a 76 (+4) in the second third rounds, respectively. The Bowling Green, KY native notched five birdies over the tournament.
Atchariya Thanaudomkul closed out the tournament with a 315 (+15) to place 52
nd. The sophomore carded a 79 (+7), 81 (+9), 76 (+4), and 79 (+7) over the four rounds. Thanaudomkul sank four birdies on the week, including sinking a pair of birdies as part of the third round.
Ginevra Capo utilized a strong first round to notch a 317 (+29) and finish 59
th. The junior tallied a 75 (+3) in the first round and closed out the championships with six birdies. Capo recorded a 78 (+6) along with a par of 82 (+10) to close out the championships.
Rounding out the Patriots line was
McKenzie Trautman, who placed 66
th after carding a 321 (+33). Trautman rallied on the back nine of the first round to close out with an 80 (+8). The sophomore followed that up with a 78 (+6), 82 (+10), and 80 (+8). Trautman carded seven birdies on the week.
This concludes the Patriots season as all five UC players garnered MSC All-Conference honors, while Head Coach
Aaron Watkins was named the MSC Coach of the Year. Cumberlands won the LTU Heritage Hill Collegiate and posted five runner-up finishes on the year.
