Bowling Green, KY – For the second consecutive year, the University of the Cumberlands Athletic Department has captured 15 conference titles to tally a perfect score of 140 points to win the 2024-25 Mid-South Conference President's Cup, conference officials announced Monday. It marks UC's fourth straight MSC President's Cup as the Patriots also captured both the Men's and Women's All Sports Trophy with a perfect 70 points apiece.
It is the third straight year that Cumberlands posted a perfect 70 on the women's side as they counted seven conference championships and the fifth straight year that UC has captured the Women's All-Sport Trophy. It marks the fourth consecutive year that UC captured the Men's All-Sport Trophies and it marks Cumberlands 12
th President's Cup in school history, which is the most in the Mid-South Conference.
Cumberlands earned 60 points from the men's and women's track and cross country team's as they sweep cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field. The women's indoor track & field team went on to capture the NAIA National Championship and their highest cross country finish in program history. The men's indoor track & field team notched a national runner-up finish as UC also garnered a third-place finish in cross country.
On the men's side, baseball, men's basketball, men's swimming & diving, and men's wrestling each captured their respective MSC titles. The Cumberlands baseball team captured their third straight MSC regular season title and their fifth in the past six years, before advancing to the NAIA World Series for the third straight year. Patriots men's basketball earned the MSC regular season title for the second straight season after a 10-2 conference mark. It was the second consecutive season that they have earned at least a share of the title. Men's swimming & diving won their seventh straight conference title, while men's wrestling scored 170 points to capture their first conference title since the 2021-22 season.
The Patriots archery team continued their domination as they captured their seventh straight MSC championship after sweeping all three phases (3D, Indoor, Outdoor). UC went on to win both the USA 3D and Outdoor Collegiate National Championships.
Cumberlands notched four additional regular season championships on the women's side as women's soccer, softball, women's swimming & diving and women's basketball. UC women's soccer won their third straight MSC regular title with a 6-0 record in conference play before capturing the MSC Tournament title. For the second time in MSC history and the second time in the past three years Cumberlands Softball went undefeated in conference play, posting an 18-0 record for their third straight conference title. UC went on to win the MSC Tournament and advanced to the NAIA World Series for the third consecutive season. The Patriots women's swimming and diving team continued to etch their name into the record books as the only conference team to win a conference title as they captured their 13
th straight MSC crown. Women's basketball posted an 10-2 mark in MSC play to capture a share of the regular season title and earn the top-seed in the MSC Tournament. It was their first conference title since 2012.
In total, Cumberlands had 25 sports finished either first or second in their respective conference standings.
Lindsey Wilson placed second in the overall standings with 131 points, while Cumberland garnered third place with 119 points.
The Patriots are seeking to defend its Learfield Director's Cup trophy and become just the sixth NAIA school to win it multiple times. UC was ranked first at the conclusion of winter sports and have captured the women's indoor track & field championship.
