Men Post Multiple Top Performances at Vandy and Bellarmine

NASHVILLE, TN – The Patriots displayed impressive performances across two meets, producing multiple national standards and a top time in the NAIA at Vanderbilt and multiple strong individual efforts across at the Bellarmine Open.
 
At Vanderbilt, the Cumberlands distance medley relay of Ryan Ehrler, Tavon Davis, Hugo Massa and Hauke Trost ran 9:54.17 to place second, just three seconds behind UT, clearing the NAIA A standard by 10 seconds and clocking the top time in the NAIA. The finish marks the second-fastest DMR time in program history. 
 
The distance group added two national B standards in the 5000 meters as Niklas Scherb ran 14:33.45 to place second and Noah Loser followed in 14:36.05 to take third, with both marks under the NAIA B cut and earning top-10 across the NAIA. Those performances gave UC three national qualifying marks from the Vanderbilt card.
 
Cumberlands also placed athletes across the mid-distance and distance finals in Nashville. Jarod Mahe finished fourth in the 600 meters in 1:20.79. Victor Carpeggiani ran 2:30.23 to place 14th in the 1000 meters, Tammo Doerner ran 2:35.43, and Max Young posted a 2:36.76 finish. In the longer races, Marius Maupoux contested the 3000 meters and finished with a time of 15:42.48.
 
At the Bellarmine Open, UC closed the meet with a relay victory as the 4x400-meter quartet of Noah Kincade, Haque, Eddie Van Wyk and Jordan Afolayan combined to win in 3:19.68. The sprint group produced solid times across the short sprints as Aarontae Wesley ran 6.95 in the 60 meters, Afolayan ran 7.05, Van Wyk posted 7.09 and Tanner Tumey recorded 7.30.
 
In the 200 meters, Jermaine Thompson ran 22.34 and Tristen Knox posted 23.21. The open 400m saw a pair of Patriot competitors as Noah Kincade turned in a 50.62 while Lebron Williams ran 52.16.
 
The hurdles corps continued to contribute for UC as Tumey ran 8.39 in the 60-meter hurdles and Jelle Golbach posted a 9.01 effort. Nathan Goodin cleared 1.90 meters in the high jump while Golbach cleared a height of 1.80m. In the long jump, Goodin posted a 6.44-meter mark, Tristen Knox jumped 6.41 meters and Tanner Tumey added a 6.36-meter effort. Zach Lawson cleared 3.75 meters in the pole vault for UC.
 
 Cumberlands' middle-distance group also produced scoring efforts at Bellarmine. Linus Schaller ran 9:18.66 in the 3,000.
 
The throws group was active across both venues. At Bellarmine, Austin Meacham recorded an 11.94-meter weight throw while Byron Collier reached 10.33 meters.
 
The Pats will be back in action tomorrow for the final day of the Vanderbilt Invitational.
