UC Women’s Swimming & Diving Wins 8 Races to Take Double Dual

Danville, KY – The Patriots women's swimming & diving team clipped eight NAIA provisional cuts en route to winning their double dual Friday night.  Cumberlands won eight races to defeated Centre 132-111, while posting a 194-40 win over Transylvania.

The Pats came out strong from the opening horn as Sarah Zoellner, Moa Nyblom, Fillippa Malmstrom and Celin Ullern teamed up to go 1:51.99 and win the 200 medley relay.

Ugne Takuseviciute, Bella Hoare and Helena Jarosz each tallied a first and a second place finish on the night.  Takuseviciute went 54.10 to win the 100 free, before clocking a 1:57.76 in the 200 free. 

Bella Hoare pulled away from the field and touched the wall in 10:37.86 to win the 1000 free by 37 seconds.  She followed that up by going 1:00.06, clipping the provisional cut in the 100 fly.

Jarosz led a trio of Patriots in the 200 IM as she went 2:11.29 to win the event.  Zoellner edged out Megan Schoenlein by 0.06 seconds, 2:18.32 to 2:18.36, for second place.   Jarosz collected her second national cut of the night in the 100 free with a time of 55.11.

In the 50 free, Celin Ullern collected the win, clocking a 25.25 to clip the provisional cut.

Juliana Lopez Morales utilized a strong start to win the 500 free with a time of 5:15.86.  

Alicja Sedlak notched the Patriots final individual cut going 2:01.12 in the 200 free to place third.

UC notched a one-two finish in the 100 breast as Schoenlein clocked a 1:07.90 for the win, while Moa Nyblom went 1:09.29 for the runner-up finish.

Ella Parke tallied a season-best score of 177.75 on the one-meter board to place third, while Alexis Cole was the Pats top diver on three-meter with a score of 183.08.

In the final event of the night, the 200 free relay, Takuseviciute, Ullern, Sedlak, and Victoria Niska teamed up for a winning time of 1:40.43.
 
UC returns to the water on Saturday, January 24th, when they return home to host #5 Milligan.  The Patriots will honor their 2026 senior class prior to the meet, which is set to begin at 1 p.m.
