LOUISVILLE, KY – The Patriots were back on the track Friday at the Bellarmine University PNC Classic, highlighted by a win in the 400 meters and solid performances across the sprints and field events.
 
UC's top performance of the meet came in the 400 meters, where Luban Haque controlled the race and won the event with a time of 48.75. Edwin Van Wyk followed with a strong showing, placing fifth after crossing the line in 50.77.
 
The sprint group opened competition in the 60 meters, led by Van Wyk, who ran 7.10. Tristen Knox followed closely with a time of 7.22, while Zach Lawson added a 7.58 effort to round out the Patriots' entries.
 
In the field events, UC recorded multiple top-five finishes. The high jump saw Nathan Goodin and Jason Bayindoula each clear 1.90 meters to finish tied for fourth overall. In the long jump, Knox posted a mark of 6.59 meters to place fourth.
 
The Patriots also produced solid results in the pole vault, where Seth Massie cleared 4.25 meters to take second place, and Lawson followed with a clearance of 4.10 meters.
 
The throws group rounded out the day as Byron Collier competed in the weight throw and recorded a mark of 11.88 meters.

The Pats will be back on the track next weekend as they travel right back Louisville for the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite.
