Williamsburg, KY – The 9th-ranked Patriots delivered a clutch performance on Senior Day, defeating #17 Lindsey Wilson 22-16 in a tightly contested Mid-South Conference dual Wednesday night inside the UC Volleyball Gym. With the win, the Patriots improve to 8-4 on the season and stay perfect in MSC action at 4-0.
The dual began at 125, where #10
Matteo Vargo set the tone with a dominant 14-1 major decision over Colin Noel to give UC an early 4-0 lead. Lindsey Wilson responded with back-to-back wins, including a fall at 133 and a 4-2 decision at 141, putting the Blue Raiders ahead 9-4.

Ty Lehman delivered a pivotal win in sudden victory, edging Kiowa Vines 11-8 to close the gap. Marc Le Gaspe followed with a 5-1 decision at 157, and #11
Malachia Harris added bonus points with a 20-10 major decision at 165 to push UC back in front, 14-9.

Derrick Bannister extended the lead with a 4-1 decision at 174. Though Lindsey Wilson answered with a major decision at 184 and a narrow 4-2 win at 197, cutting the Patriots' lead to 17-16, the dual came down to heavyweight.

Austin Silva came through in dominant fashion, earning a 21-1 technical fall over #17 Miguel Perez at 6:42 to seal the 22-16 team win for Cumberlands.
Cumberlands will return to action on Sunday, February 1, when they travel to Lebanon, TN for the Cumberland Open.
