Bowling Green, KY – After a strong meet in which he posted three wins and a pair of national cuts, Gabriel Almeida dos Santos has been named the MSC Men's Swimmer of the Week.  It marks his first weekly honor of his career.

Almeida dos Santos opened the meet clocking a 1:51.90 to pull away from the field and win the 200 fly.  That time is the second fastest time in the NAIA this season.  The sophomore followed that up, touching the wall in 49.68 to win the 100 fly as he clipped his second national cut of the day.

The Sao Paulo, Brazil native was also part of UC's 200 medley relay that posted a winning time of 1:33.81.  That time is seventh fastest time in the NAIA this season.  Almeida dos Santos capped off the week helping UC's 400 free C relay post a time of 3:14.35. 

Cumberlands will return to action on Friday, November 6th, when they travel to Wilmore, KY to face Asbury.  The meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
