Columbia, KY - The #6 University of the Cumberlands women's wrestling team traveled to Columbia, Kentucky, on Tuesday night for a ranked, Mid-South Conference matchup at #4 Lindsey Wilson University, with the Blue Raiders earning a 35-11 team victory.
Lindsey Wilson opened the dual with forfeits at 103 and 110 to take an early advantage. The Blue Raiders extended their lead at 117 as #9 Callie Payton recorded a 13-3 technical fall over #6
Shammilka Miranda at 5:59.
At 124, #3 Kamilah Brooks secured a 10-0 technical fall in 1:19, followed by a 10-1 decision at 131. Lindsey Wilson continued its momentum at 138 with a fall at 3:20 to build separation on the scoreboard.
The Patriots broke through at 145 as #9
Genesis Gilmore delivered a dominant 10-0 technical fall in just 0:50 to put UC on the board. Lindsey Wilson answered with a 6-2 decision at 160 and a fall at 180 to maintain control.
Cumberlands closed the official scoring at 207, where
Destiny Marquez earned a 13-2 technical fall at 5:16, but it was not enough as Lindsey Wilson secured the 35-11 victory.
