Georgetown, KY – The University of the Cumberlands cheer team delivered a historic performance at the 2026 Tiger Invite, capturing two competition victories Saturday afternoon, highlighted by a program-record score in round one.
The Patriots opened the day with a dominant performance, posting a 94.05 in round one — the highest score in program history. UC's routine set the tone early and created significant separation from the field, as Georgetown finished second with an 87.23, followed by Spring Arbor (86.11) and Marian (85.00). Cumberland rounded out the top five with a 79.55, while Lindsey Wilson, Midway, and Brescia completed the standings.
Cumberlands returned to the mat in round two and continued its strong showing, tallying an 87.33 to secure its second win of the day. Spring Arbor placed second with an 82.71, followed by Cumberland (77.23) and Marian (76.36). Midway, Lindsey Wilson, and Brescia rounded out the competition.
"Really happy with the way the team came together and supported one another," said Head Coach RJ Conroy. "Energy was extremely high. Excited for LWU next week."
The program-record performance in round one marks another milestone for the Patriots as they continue to build momentum during the 2026 season.
Cumberlands returns to the mat on Saturday, Feb. 21, when they travel to Lindsey Wilson University for their next competition.
