Bowling Green, KY – For the first time in her career, Bryndis Rosa was named Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week following a dominant performance at the Grizzly Invitational, where she helped lead the Patriots to a pair of 4-0 sweeps, including a shutout victory over No. 13 Georgia Gwinnett.

The Kopavogur, Iceland native played a key role in doubles throughout the invitational, finishing the day undefeated. Competing at No. 2 doubles alongside Marina Nagai, Rosa opened with a strong 6-1 victory against a nationally ranked Georgia Gwinnett pair to help secure the doubles point. She followed with another commanding performance in the afternoon, teaming for a 6-0 win against Montreat to remain perfect on the day in doubles competition.

Rosa also contributed in singles play, helping clinch the Patriots' victory over Montreat at No. 6 singles to complete Cumberlands' second sweep of the day. Her efforts helped the Patriots improve to 4-1 on the season, with all four wins coming in shutout fashion.

This marks Rosa's first career Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honor and the first by a Patriot women's tennis player this season.

Rosa and the Patriots return to the courts on Friday, February 27, as they travel to face Freed-Hardeman University in Jackson, TN. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
