Williamsburg, KY – The #7 Cumberlands Patriots continued their strong spring campaign on Monday afternoon, defeating #19 Cumberland 5-2 at the UC Tennis Complex to improve to 9-4 on the season. 

The Patriots started the match in dominant fashion by sweeping all three doubles contests to claim the opening point. Darius Kuster and Gabriele Solda set the tone at No. 1 doubles with a commanding 6-0 victory. Jacopo Cianfarini and Mohammed Abuzed Saber followed with a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles, while Kesia Roi and Manuel Fernandez Guede secured the sweep with a 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles. 

Cumberlands carried the momentum into singles play, winning four of the six matches to secure the team victory. Darius Kuster delivered a dominant performance at No. 2 singles, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 win. Kesia Roi followed with a strong 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles to extend the Patriots' lead. At No. 6 singles, Mohammed Abuzed Saber added another point with a convincing 6-2, 6-0 win. 

Thibaud Vivier secured the deciding point at No. 4 singles after Mateus Mori retired during the match, giving the Patriots their fifth point of the afternoon. 

UC will be back on the court on Wednesday, March 11, with a home match against RV Grace College. The first serve is slated for 1:00 PM.
