Williamsburg, KY – The No. 13 Patriots women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping RV Grace College 7-0 at the UC Tennis Complex. With the win, the Patriots improved to 8-2 on the season while the Lancers fell to 2-8. 

Cumberlands set the tone early by capturing the doubles point with wins on all three courts. The duo of Mahiro Hara and YuFang Liu secured a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles to open the match. Victoria Zarate and Bryndis Rosa followed with a hard-fought 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles, while Marina Nagai and Rion Yanuma completed the sweep with a 6-4 triumph at the No. 3 position. 

The Patriots continued their momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets except for a tightly contested battle at the top spot. 

Mahiro Hara was the first to finish, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles. Bryndis Rosa added another point with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles before YuFang Liu earned a 6-1, 6-2 decision at the No. 5 position to clinch the team victory. 

Rion Yanuma followed with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles, while Victoria Zarate recorded a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles. 

At the top of the lineup, Marina Nagai battled through a three-set match to secure the sweep, defeating Jimena Ramirez 6-3, 6-7, (10-5) in a match tiebreaker at No. 1 singles. 

The Patriots are back on the court on Friday, March 13, where they will travel to Rome, GA to compete in the NAIA Blast Off tournament. Their first match is against No. 6 Xavier University of Louisiana with a TBA start time.
