Bowling Green, KY – For the third time in her career, YuFang Liu has been named Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after a dominant showing that helped lead the Patriots through a strong week of competition that included multiple nationally ranked opponents. 

The junior from Taiwan played a key role throughout the week, going undefeated in completed matches while contributing in both singles and doubles play. Liu finished the week 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles in completed matches, helping Cumberlands secure three team victories. 

Competing primarily at the No. 6 singles position, Liu opened the week with a commanding 6-0, 6-2 victory over No. 22 Cumberland before following it up with another straight-set win, 6-1, 6-2, against Grace. She continued her strong play at the Rome, Georgia tournament, defeating a Xavier opponent 6-2, 6-1 in straight sets. Liu was also in action in her singles match against No. 18 Dillard before play was halted. 

Liu was equally effective in doubles competition, partnering with Mahiro Hara and Victoria Zarate to post three doubles victories during the week. The duo with Hara opened the week with a 6-0 win over Cumberland and followed with a 6-3 victory against Grace. Liu later teamed with Zarate for a 6-3 win against Dillard to help secure the doubles point. 

This marks Liu's third career Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honor and the second by a Patriot this season. 

The Patriots are back on the court on Monday, March 16, where they will travel to No. 2 Lindsey Wilson for a ranked conference matchup. The first serve is slated for 1:00 PM.
