RALEIGH, NC – The University of the Cumberlands men's track & field team continued competition Saturday with athletes competing at the Raleigh Relays and the Blue Raider Rumble, highlighted by national standards and top marks on the NAIA leaderboard.
Raleigh Relays
The Patriots were led by their relay squads, who turned in two of the top times in the NAIA this season. In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of
Noah Kincade,
Roy Miller, Willy Mabena, and
Tavon Davis ran 3:10.56 to hit the NAIA A standard and move to No. 1 in the NAIA this season.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Aarontae Wesley, Willy Mabena,
Eddie Van Wyk, and
Jermaine Thompson clocked 40.41 to hit the NAIA A standard and currently rank third in the NAIA.
On the track in the 400-meter hurdles,
Zion Pruitt recorded a personal-best time of 55.01, while van Wyk followed in 55.4 The 200 meters saw
Lebron Williams post a time of 21.87.
The Patriots also competed in the 800 meters, where
Kyle Crady ran 1:54.56.
Jarod Mahe followed in 1:54.79, while
Max Young posted a personal-best 1:54.90.
Ryan Ehrler recorded 1:54.92,
Hugo Massa ran 1:55.11, and
Caden Cull finished in 1:55.89.
Blue Raider Rumble
At Lindsey Wilson,
Nate Case competed in the 400 meters, recording a time of 52.66. In the 800 meters, Ben Beilfub ran 2:00.66.
In the throws,
Byron Collier recorded marks of 32.32 meters in the hammer and 40.18 meters in the discus.
The Pats will return next weekend at the CMU Invite.
