Patriots Set Program Points Record; Finishes Third at NAIA Championships

Elkhart, IN – The University of the Cumberlands women's swimming & diving team tallied seven All-American performances to finish third at the 2026 NAIA National Championships.  The Patriots recorded a program record 414 points to tie their highest finish in program history.

The Patriots opened finals with three scores in the 1650 free, including a pair of NAIA All-American performances.  Juliana Lopez Morales clocked a 17:17.90 to earn a third place finish.  Placing one spot back was teammate Bella Hoare tallied her third individual All-American accolade after touching the wall in 17:29.59.  Mara Ellerkamp notched a season-best time of 18:17.04 to place 14th overall.

In the 200 breast, Megan Schoenlein dropped three second from her prelim time to clock a 2:19.81 to capture a national runner-up finish. That time is the third fastest time in program history. Moa Nyblom touched the wall in 2:22.30 to place seventh, garnering All-American honors.  Helena Jarosz earned a 13th place finish after going 2:24.62. 

Sarah Zoellner captured NAIA All-American honors as she clocked a 2:06.53 to finish third overall.

On one-meter diving Morgan Schraudner collected her second NAIA All-American honor as she scored 225.90 points to place fifth.  That is the third best score in program history.

UC tallied a pair of scorers in consolation final the 100 free.  Ugne Takuseviciute posted a time of 52.28, while Celin Ullern notched a season-best time of 52.87 as they finished 14th and 16th, respectively.
 
In the final event of the championship, the 400 free relay, the Patriots notched a sixth place finish with a time of 3:29.44 to garner NAIA All-American honors.  Takuseviciute led off with a 52.57, followed by Hoare who split a 52.58.  Ullern went 53.23 before Zoellner anchored with a 51.06 as that time 0.02 seconds away from the meet record.
