Bowling Green, KY – For the second year in a row, seven members of the Cumberlands Women's Tennis team have garnered Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced Thursday afternoon. The Mid-South Conference also named Skye Maclean as UC's Champion of Character representative. 

Those nominated for the MSC Academic All-Conference Team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term or fourth quarter. 44 student-athletes across the conference were recognized for their efforts in the classroom. 

Earning academic honors for the third time in their careers are Puckaporn Jirachavala and Marina Nagai, continuing to demonstrate excellence both on the court and in the classroom. 

The Patriots that received the honor for the second time include Eva Cancarevic, Yu-Fang Liu, Skye Maclean, Lucy Stojic, and Carlota Verdu. 

Cumberlands came third in the MSC academic standings behind Campbellsville (Ky.) and Bethel (Tenn.) with seven honorees out of 44 total student-athletes represented. 

The MSC also recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes selected for this honor are nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while exemplifying the five core character values of the NAIA. 

UC opens action as the 2-seed at the MSC Tournament on Friday, April 17 against the 7-seed Georgetown (Ky.). The first serve is slated for 1:00 PM CT in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
