ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UC's women's track & field team continued competition Thursday at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, highlighted by
Heather Durrant capturing a national title in the racewalk and a pair of All-American finishes in the 10,000 meters. The women sit in second place of the team standings heading into the final day.
Durrant delivered a historic performance in the 5,000-meter racewalk, winning the national championship in 24:32.23. The title marks just the second individual outdoor national championship in program history and gives Durrant her second career NAIA national title after winning the indoor 3,000-meter racewalk championship in 2024.
In the 10,000 meters,
Alina Boshchuk earned All-America honors with a runner-up finish in 35:20.89 to score eight points for the Patriots. The honor marks Boshchuk's eighth career All-America track finish. She now has 10 total between cross country and T&F, the most of any athlete in program history.
Patrober Jepchirchir also turned in a strong performance, placing fourth in 35:56.80 to earn five team points and All-America honors.
Lilian Bittencourt added a ninth-place finish in the racewalk with a time of 28:22.40, while
Lucy Sullivan recorded 29:20.51 to place 10th.
On the track,
Ritorion Vigne competed in the 100-meter prelims and recorded a time of 12.21.
Lillian Guzman also represented the Patriots in the 400-meter prelims, posting a time of 56.64.
The Pats have scored 31 team points from the racewalk, 10K, and long jump events and have a chance to add more from the 4x100, 200m dash, and 5K tomorrow. Follow along with live results available
