Austin, TX - After a historic 2026 campaign, the University of the Cumberlands women's tennis team added another accomplishment as Marina Nagai earned CSC Academic All-America honors, announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

Nagai helped guide the Patriots to a NAIA National Championship quarterfinal appearance while posting a 17-6 team record and multiple postseason accolades throughout the season.

Marina Nagai capped off an exceptional senior campaign by earning CSC First Team All-American honors after garnering MSC Player of the Year honors along with All-MSC First Team recognition. Nagai, an NAIA Second Team All-American and NAIA Scholar-Athlete, posted a 10-5 singles record while competing exclusively at the No. 1 position. She also recorded a 15-4 doubles mark, primarily at the No. 3 doubles flight alongside Bryndis Rosa. Nagai earned MSC Player of the Week honors on April 6 during the season.

The Patriots finished the season ranked No. 7 nationally after advancing to the NAIA National Championship quarterfinals. Throughout the year, Cumberlands consistently excelled both on the court and in the classroom, continuing the program's tradition of academic and athletic success.

CSC Academic All-America honors recognize student-athletes for elite performances both academically and athletically. Established in 1952 by College Sports Communicators, the program has honored more than 44,000 student-athletes across collegiate athletics.
