AUSTIN, TX – Following another outstanding season on the track and in the classroom, the University of the Cumberlands women's track & field program placed two student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-America First Team. Alina Boshchuk and Heather Durrant both earned First Team recognition, marking another historic achievement for the Patriot program.
 
Boshchuk became the first women's track & field student-athlete in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America honors three times after being named to the First Team for the third consecutive season. Last year, she was selected as the CSC NAIA Women's Track & Field Team Member of the Year.
 
She continued her remarkable career by earning All-America honors in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, finishing as the national runner-up in both events. She also claimed Mid-South Conference championships in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters while earning First Team All-Conference honors in both events. The graduate posted a perfect 4.00 GPA as a Business Administration major while also earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete and MSC Academic All-Conference recognition.
 
Durrant earned CSC Academic All-America First Team honors for the first time in her career after another exceptional season both academically and athletically. The junior captured the NAIA Outdoor National Championship in the 5,000-meter racewalk after earning All-American honors with a third-place finish in the indoor 3,000-meter racewalk. She also swept the Mid-South Conference racewalk titles, winning both the indoor 3,000-meter racewalk and outdoor 5,000-meter racewalk while earning First Team All-Conference honors in each event. During the fall, Durrant also collected Second Team All-Mid-South Conference honors in cross country.
 
The duo continues the recent academic success of the Patriot women's track & field program while adding two more CSC Academic All-America honors to the program's history.
