Katy Powers enters her first year as an Assistant Coach with the Patriots Dance team after being hired in January 2025.
Powers joins the staff after graduating from UC in December of 2024. Powers competed for the UC Dance team from 2021 until 2023. She was an MSC All-Conference Dancer in 2022 and 2023. She was also a Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete in 2023 and 2024. Powers was a member of the first ever dance team to qualify for the NAIA Cheer and Dance National Championship in 2022.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to continue my involvement with the UC dance team from a coach’s perspective,” said Powers. “It’s a dream come true.”
Currently, Powers is a first-grade teacher in the Whitley County School System. She brings her passion for dance into the classroom to help educate her students.
