Coach Rachel Gallison is entering her first season as an graduate assistant coach with the Patriots cross country and track & field team after joining UC in the summer of 2020.Â
Prior to joining UC, Gallison, a Safford Springs, CT native, spent four years competing at Tennessee Wesleyan. While running for the Bulldogs, she competed in cross country and ran the 3,000 steeple and the 5k in track. Gallison posted career-best times of 18:51.4 for a 5k during the 2019 AAC Cross Country Championships and also competed at the NAIA National Championship in both 2018 and 2019. On the track, Gallison posted a career-best time of 11:33.13 for the 3k steeple, while crossing the line in 18:36.46 for the 5k. Â
Gallison excelled in the classroom at Tennessee Wesleyan, graduating in 2020 with a double major in Music and Psychology, while earning numerous academic accolades. She was a 2x Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District selection, a four-time AAC Academic All-Conference selection, and was named the 2018 Fall AAC Champion of Character. In addition to that, Gallison earned the 2017 Greek Unity Award, 2018 The Harrilyn C. Sallis Award, 2017 & 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award and was the 2018-19 AAC Female Champion of Character.
Gallison will also compete for the Patriots this spring during the outdoor track season.Â
