Clay Bowling enters his second year as a graduate assistant with the UC men's and women's cross country teams aftering joining the coaching staff in August 2018. In his role, Bowling will be assisting with the coaching of distance events and the race walk. He recently helped guide Carson Johnson to an All-American finish at the 2020 NAIA Indoor Championships in the 3,000 meter racewalk.
A Manchester, KY native, Bowling has most recently served as the assistant distance coach at Corbin HS.
In addition, he ran four years of cross country and track at Cumberlands, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in the spring of 2018. Â
Bowling, who currently resides in Williamsburg, KY, is pursuing a Master's in Teaching (MAT) from University of the Cumberlands.
