Nathan Boston serves as a virtual assistant coach for the University of the Cumberlands wrestling program, bringing Division I experience and an elite competitive background to the Patriots’ staff.

Boston competed at the NCAA Division I level at Iowa State University from 2014–17. After redshirting his freshman season, he entered the Cyclones’ lineup as a starter at both 125 and 141 pounds during the 2015 season before starting at 133 pounds in 2016. He later transferred to Campbell University, where he competed during the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons, starting at both 133 and 141 pounds and gaining valuable experience in the Southern Conference.

Prior to his collegiate career, Boston was one of the most accomplished high school wrestlers in the country. He was a three-time state champion, capturing one title in Indiana and two in Kentucky. He posted a remarkable 199–1 career record and finished his high school career ranked No. 1 nationally, establishing himself as one of the top pound-for-pound wrestlers in the nation.

Boston volunteers his time to assist the team with virtual video review for UC athletes, and also assists with recruiting. He lives in Bondurant, IA with his wife Meg and their kids Rae and Banner.
