Caleb Kirby

Career Highlights

Caleb Kirby is entering his ninth season at the University of the Cumberlands as the Assistant Coach for the UC Archery Team. Caleb completed his USA Archery NTS Level 4 in 2021 and is a member of the Kentucky S3DA Board of Directors.Kirby has been an essential part of the Patriots success and has garnered Mid-South Conference Assistant Coach of the Year for four consecutive seasons.  In January 2025, Caleb was named to the National Board of Directors for S3DA.

In his time at UC, Kirby has been instrumental in the Patriots success in all three phases of archery.  In 2017-2018 the program saw a number of high honors including a runner-up finish at the 2017 3D National Championships, a 2018 Indoor Team National Title, and a co-championship at the 2018 Outdoor National Championships.  Cumberlands have won four straight 3D National Championships, second place at the 2021 USA Outdoor National Championship.   In addition, Kirby has been key in the Patriots capturing all seven Mid-South Conference titles along with 14 USA Archery National Championhips.  During the 2022-23 season, Cumberlands captured their second "Triple Crown" in program history, winning 3D, Indoor, and Outdoor Nationals. 

Before becoming a coach for the Patriots, Kirby was and still is one of the most highly decorated archers in UC history. Caleb currently is tied for the school record for most individual national championships for a male. He was also a member of six team championships as well as two silver medal teams and two bronze medal teams. He also holds at least one of the top five spots in UC history in best qualifying scores all-time for the Bowhunter division in both 3D and outdoor.  Kirby will be inducted into the Cumberlands Athletic Hall of Fame in September of 2022. 

Kirby, a native of London, Kentucky, graduated from UC in 2016 with a degree in Business Administration. He has remained at UC at graduated with his Masters Degree in Business Administration in 2019 and graduated with his Masters Degree in Coaching in 2020. Coach Kirby resides in Williamsburg, KY with his wife Courtnie.
