Edwin van Wyk is a Graduate Assistant in the Sports Information Department at the University of the Cumberlands. He holds dual undergraduate degrees in Business Administration (Marketing) and Health, Exercise & Sport Science, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence.
Originally from South Africa, Edwin competed as a student-athlete on the Patriots Track & Field team, contributing to three NAIA national championship titles. His background in athletics gives him a unique perspective on capturing the spirit of competition and excellence.
In his role, Edwin blends his creative and technical skills, ranging from photography and videography to graphic design and video editing, to support the department’s digital media efforts. He is also helping pioneer the use of AI-driven tools to streamline content creation and enhance coverage across UC Athletics platforms.
With a passion for storytelling, performance, and innovation, Edwin is committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in collegiate sports media.
