Jared Kilgore is entering his fourth year as a full-time Assistant Sports Information Director at the University of the Cumberlands, where he continues to elevate the visibility and success of Patriot athletics across multiple platforms. Over his time at UC he has earned numerous honors including CSC 30 Under 30 honors and 2025 MSC Assistant SID of the Year.
In his current role, Jared serves as the primary media contact for Football, Men’s Basketball, Men’s & Women’s Track & Field, and Esports. He also contributes as the secondary contact for Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse, Softball, Baseball, Volleyball, and Cross Country, while serving as the main contact of Softball, Bowling, and Cross Country in previous years. His wide-ranging duties include game-day operations, photography, videography, student-worker development, social media management, feature writing, statistical tracking, graphic design, and more — all executed with a standard of excellence that reflects his deep commitment to the department.
Kilgore has covered four NAIA National Championship teams: 2024 Men’s Indoor Track & Field, 2024 Men’s Outdoor Track & Field, 2025 Women’s Indoor Track & Field, and 2026 Men's Outdoor Track & Field. His work as the main contact has supported 25 Mid-South Conference championship programs across eight sports, including Men’s Basketball, Cross Country, Softball, and Track & Field. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Jared was named the 2025 Mid-South Conference Assistant Sports Information Director of the Year — the first individual in school history to receive this prestigious honor.
A proven leader in championship settings, Jared has served as Meet Director for both the 2026 MSC Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field Championships, helped run both the indoor and outdoor MSC Track & Field Championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and has operated official statistics at multiple MSC Basketball and Volleyball Championship events. His ability to handle high-pressure, multi-sport environments with consistency and professionalism has made him an invaluable asset on both the campus and conference levels.
Kilgore is also actively involved on the national level through College Sports Communicators (CSC). A member of the CSC 30 Under 30 Class of 2026, he serves on the CSC Divisional Day Committee and the CSC Creative & Digital Design Contest Committee. Through these appointments, he assists with professional development initiatives and the recognition of excellence in athletic communications, while collaborating with peers from institutions across the country to help advance the profession.
Prior to his full-time appointment, Jared served as a Graduate Assistant in the Sports Information Department for two years. He was the primary contact for Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field and Bowling, while also contributing in broadcasting, content creation, writing, social media management, photography, and PA announcing.
Jared graduated from Cumberlands in 2021 with dual degrees in Accounting and Business Administration before earning his MBA in 2023. A former four-year member of the Patriots Baseball team, he earned multiple Academic All-Conference and All-American honors.
