Peggy Haus, LAT, ATC

Peggy Haus began her athletic training career as an undergraduate at the University of Cincinnati, where she graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in art education (K-12) and health education (7-12) while obtaining a minor in athletic training. She continued her athletic training career as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University. As part of her two year graduate experience she acted as the Head Athletic Trainer for East Lansing High School during her first year and was placed in charge of the MSU women's volleyball and gymnastics programs her second year, while assisting with the MSU football team in both the fall and spring.

Mrs. Haus' first full-time experience came at Wichita State University where she was the Assistant Athletic Trainer serving women's sports and non-revenue men's sports. She came to Cumberland College in the fall of 1990 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and moved into the position of Head Athletic Trainer the following year in 1991, a position she has held ever since.

Mrs. Haus is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA); the College/University Athletic Trainers' Society (CATS); the Southeastern Athletic Trainers' Society (SEATA); and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society (KATS). She is an NATABOC certified athletic trainer (AT), and is Licensed in the State of Kentucky as an athletic trainer. She is an American Red Cross Instructor for both the Professional Rescuer and the Lay-Responder, and enjoys teaching classes as an adjunct instructor for the UC Health, Exercise and Sports Science Department, which include First Aid and Safety, Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, and Kinesiology.

Mrs. Haus has been recognized for 25 years of service to the University, and continues to promote and encourage the advancement of the athletic training department in order to keep up with the constant changes occurring within the profession of sports medicine.  Peggy’s outside interests include: reading anything that catches her interest, knitting, and supporting her sons in their educational and extracurricular pursuits. Peggy is married to Richard Haus, and is the proud mother of two sons, Ryan (19) and Jamie (15), all who make an already busy and interesting life even better.
