University of the Cumberlands Athletics

Walker Dunn earned athlete of the week honors after tallying a team-high 10 tackles and a sack in Cumberlands 30-6 season opening win.  Dunn recorded a team-best five solo tackles and posted a pair of tackles for loss in the game.  The Athens, AL native, who transitioned to linebacker this season, made four tackles in the third quarter anchoring the UC defense which limited Union to -5 yards of offense during the quarter.  UC’s defense held the Bulldogs scoreless with 50 yards of offense over the final 30 minutes.  It was the Patriots fourth straight Brass Lantern win, which is the third longest win streak in the rivalry.
