Talli Burgess earned athlete of the week honors after going 3-0 on the week with a 0.00 ERA. Burgess pitched 11.1 innings with 13 strikeouts and scattering six hits.  The Crandell, GA native started against 18^th-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan and pitched 5.1 innings scattering four hits with six strikeouts.  The Bulldogs had one hit in the first five innings as Burgess didn’t let a runner get past first base. Burgess earned the 3-0 win in that game.  In the first game against #3 Freed-Hardeman, Burgess entered the game in the fourth inning and recorded back-to-back outs, including a strikeout to keep the score 3-1.  The junior retired the next seven batters before getting Jimmerson to fly out to rightfield to end the game.  Burgess struck out four batters in that game as UC won 4-1.  She capped off the week with her second relief appearance, this time 2.1 innings of scoreless pitching with three strikeouts as she helped UC complete the sweep over Freed-Hardeman. On the season, Burgess is 9-0 with a 0.59 ERA and 53 strikeouts.
