Michael Toohey earned athlete of the week honors after making 33 saves during the Patriots run at the NAIA National Invitational.  The Johns Creek, GA native opened nationals with a career-high 20 saves in UC’s 14-8 win over #6 Concordia. The 20 saves are a Patriots postseason record and are the second most saves in a game by a Patriot goalie.  Toohey made six saves in the second quarter, while limiting the Cardinals to one goal, while he added seven third quarter saves as the Patriots opened the game up and put some separation between the two teams.  The junior closed out the game with 11 second half saves to help UC advance to the semifinals for the fifth straight season.  Toohey followed that up with 13 saves against #2 Indiana Tech.  He made 11 of 13 saves in the second half, while limiting one the highest scoring teams in the NAIA to just seven goals in the game, which was a season low against an NAIA opponent.  Toohey closed out the year with 207 saves and a 58.1% save percentage.
