Georgia Martell earned athlete of the week honors after posting back-to-back wins with 20 saves over UC’s final two games of the NAIA Tournament.  Against #2 Spring Arbor, Martell made a save in each half, however, her impact on the match goes beyond the save Cumberlands as she was part of the Patriots backline that fended off 12 shots and 9 corner kicks in the match.  Her performance helped UC advance to the NAIA Championship match for the first time in program history.  She followed it up with a career-high 18 saves in the championship match against #1 William Carey.  The junior made nine saves in the second half and two in the first overtime to help UC force penalty kicks, where they eventually won.  The 18 saves are the most by a Patriot goalie in a win and rank second most in program history.
