Javiero Izquierdo Cuervo earned athlete of the week honors after helping lead the Patriots to the NAIA national semifinals for the first time in program history. Izquierdo Cuervo recorded 13 saves over UC’s three matches at the NAIA Final Site. He opened the week making six saves, including three in each half, as the Patriots defeated #12 Lindsey Wilson 2-1. The six stops tied his season high.  In the quarterfinals, the junior notched three saves to help Cumberlands force penalty kicks. With the season on the line, Izquierdo Cuervo made a save in fifth round of pk’s forcing sudden death before coming up clutch in the seventh round with his second save of the penalty kicks helping UC advance. He capped off his week with four saves against Dalton State.
