Williamsburg, KY – The University of the Cumberlands Women's Soccer Team had four players net at least one goal as the Patriots defeated Life 5-0 in Mid-South Conference play, Friday night at the UC Soccer Complex. With the win the Patriots improve to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the MSC, while the Running Eagles fall to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Patriots took control of the contest right from the start as the controlled the ball in their offensive third for a majority of the game. UC looked for a quick score in the second minute, but an offside call negated the goal. Just over ten minutes into the game

Shelby Little, who dribbled by the goalie and found the back of the net to give Cumberlands a 1-0 lead. The score remained that way until the 28' minute as Little fired a cross that deflected off the keeper's hand right to
Jody LeMaster who put it home. Minutes later
Alexis Dreier intercepted a Life clear and sent a lob into the net to extend UC's lead to 3-0 with 8:18 remaining in the first half. Life looked to cut into the lead as Josie Davis took a shot with a minute left but it sailed wide keeping the game 3-0 at the break.
Cumberlands strong play continued into the second half as they outshot the Eagles 6-5 over the final 45 minutes. UC looked to extend their lead eight minutes into the half as LeMaster sent a ball across the line, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside call. That didn't stop LeMaster though minutes later she grabbed the loose ball and fired a shot to the top right corner to give the Patriots a 4-0 lead with 26:55 remaining. th career save and keep Life off the scoreboard. UC final goal came in the 85' as
Erin Bolas sent a forward pass to
Emily Willoughby who crossed it past the goalie to
Alexis Kingsley for a goal to give UC a 5-0 lead. Life kept battling though as Andrea Garcia sent a shot to the far post but
