Cleveland, GA – The seventh-ranked University of the Cumberlands women's lacrosse team had 11 players net at least one goal, while the Patriots blanked Truett McConnell 25-0 in their AAC opener Saturday afternoon.  With the win the Patriots improve to 3-0, while the Bears drop to 0-4.

Cumberlands was in control of the game right from the starts as UC outscored Truett McConnell 14-0 in the first half.  Samantha Tullar and Jaclyn combined for seven of those goals, while Shea West and Angelica Makoski each netted a pair of goals.  Berry also dished out three assists in the half, while Tullar tallied two assists and Amanda Phillips connected with Makoski for a goal. 

The Patriots had balance scoring in the second half as nine different players scored.  Tullar added three goals and an assist in the second half, while Berry notched three points.  Seven other players found the cage once, including Lillian Gutierrez and Briana Kucis who each netted their first goals of the season. 
This marks the second time in program history that the Patriots have held an opponent scoreless.  The last time it happened was February 28, 2017 when they defeated Johnson & Wales 23-0.

Leading the way for the Patriots was Tullar who tallied seven goals, three assists, and seven draw controls, while Berry recorded four goals, five assists, and four draw controls.  West, Fladung, and Makoski each finished with a hat trick.  Emily Crump and Emily Cabrera combined for two saves in the win.

The Patriots will return to the field Friday, March 2, when they travel to Belleville, IL to face the Lynx at 1 p.m.
