Belleville, IL – Playing their first game since being ranked third, the UC women's lacrosse team put their offense on display as nine different players netted at least one goal in the 22-1 win over Lindenwood-Belleville Friday afternoon. With the win the Patriots improve to 4-0, while the Lynx move to 0-4.
Cumberlands was in control of the game right from the starts as UC netted the first 18 goals of the contest, including taking a 14-0 lead into halftime.
Samantha Tullar and
Jaclyn Berry led the way for the Patriots with six goals apiece. Tullar also dished out three assists and scooped three ground balls and four draw controls. Berry finished with a pair of assists, ground balls, caused turnover, and draw controls.
Amanda Phillips,
Angelica Makoski, and
Katherine Brewer each netted a pair of goals, while
Elizabeth Fladung,
Emily Heim,
Tristyn Hudson, and
Shea West all chipped in a goal.
Heim and Fladung dished out two assists apiece, while Phillips, Brewer, Hudson, and
Rachael Giles notched an assist.
Berry scored four of her game-high five goals as the Patriots outscored Lindenwood-Belleville 8-1 in the second half. Brewer scored a goal and dished out an assist to Heim to make It 17-0 with 23:22 left in the second half. The Patriots scored four of the next five goals, before
Jessica Truelove found the back of the cage for her first goal of the season.
The Patriots will return to the field Saturday, March 3, when they stay in Belleville, IL and take on Missouri Baptist in a neutral site game. The game is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
