Atlanta, GA - Facing the four-time NCAA DIII National Champion Emory, the University of the Cumberlands men's tennis team fell to the Eagles 9-0 Sunday afternoon. With the win Emory improves to 6-2, while the Patriots move to 3-2.
Emory struck first with an 8-0 win at #3 doubles, before taking #2 doubles 8-3. At #1 doubles,
Martin Barbier and
Eric Banoub faced the pair of Jonathan Jemison and Adrien Bouchet. After trading points to start the match the duo of Jemison and Bouchet pulled away for the 8-5 lead extending Emory's lead to 3-0.
The Eagles won all six singles matches in straight sets for the 9-0 final.
The Patriots will return to the court Monday, March 11, when they face top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett.
