5/13/2019 6:44:00 PM

Williamsburg, KY – Second-seed Indiana Tech plated eight unanswered runs to defeat third-seed Lyon 8-3 in the second game of the Williamsburg Bracket Monday afternoon at Doyle Buhl Stadium.  With the win the Warriors improve to 39-14-1, while the Scots move to 38-21.

Lyon would take control of the game early in the bottom of the first. With two down, an RBI single by Troy Strack followed by a two-run single from Zane Pritchard would give the Scots a 3-0 lead over the Warriors.

Indiana Tech would manufacture a pair of runs in the fourth to cut into the lead. Back-to-back RBI singles by both Jake Ritson and Jashaun Simon would hang two runs on the board for the Warriors, shaving the lead down to just a run after four innings of play.

Lyon then saw their lead become a deficit in the fifth as the Warriors would convert again on two outs. An RBI single from Spenser McGhee would tie the game at 3-3, but Indiana Tech would then manufacture another run with runners on the corners. As McGhee would attempt to steal second, Brandon Dossen would come home to score as an errant throw would get away from the Scots, pushing the Warriors out front 4-3 after five innings of play.

Indiana Tech would pad their lead in the bottom of the seventh. With two down once again and the bases loaded, a double to deep left center from Ritson would clear the bases, extending the lead for the Warriors to 7-3.

Reese Olden led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a single, advance to third on a Branson Dosson single to left and scored on a Jake Defries sacrifice fly to extend the Warriors lead to 8-3.

Landon Bloir shut down the Scots in the top of ninth for the 8-3 final.  Bloir recorded the win (2-1), pitching 7.1 innings scattering three hits and three strikeouts.  Ritson finished 3-4 with four RBI's to lead Indiana Tech hitting.

Marcelo Terrazas took the loss after pitching 6.0 inning scattering five earned runs with a strikeout.  Pritchard went 1-4 with two RBI's on the day.

Indiana Tech will face the winner of the Cumberlands vs. Mobile game Tuesday, May 14, at 3:30 p.m. Lyon will face Baker in the elimination bracket Tuesday, May 14, at 12 p.m.
