Williamsburg, KY – Cumberlands athletics have gotten off to a strong start this fall with a plethora of teams being ranked in their respective poll.  On the heels of capturing three straight tournament titles, the Patriots men's golf team has been named the Pepsi Corbin Team of the Month honors for October, announced by the athletic department Tuesday.  The University of the Cumberlands Athletic Department in conjunction with their corporate partner the Pepsi Corbin are presenting the "Pepsi Corbin Team of the Month", which will be awarded to one Patriot team each month.

The Patriots notched three team titles, while Thomas White and Isaac Jones both captured Medalist honors during the month.  After opening the month with a seventh-place finish at the Music City Collegiate, Cumberlands began to find their stride.  UC dominated the Gibson Bay Intercollegiate, winning by 15 strokes.  The Patriots top four players all finished top-five in the individual leaderboard as White captured Medalist honors (-6). 

Cumberlands followed that up by pulling away from the field to win The Club at Five Oaks.  The Patriots carded an 881 (+29) over the 54-hole course, earning the victory by 15 strokes.  Saran Jantratit and Jones led the way for UC recording a 220 (+7) to finish tied for fourth.

The Patriots capped off the month with an impressive performance at the MSC Fall Preview.  UC was under-par in each of the three rounds, closing out the tournament with an 845 (-19) and the 24-stroke win.  Cumberlands posted the top three individual finishes with Jones capturing Medalist honors.

Their success on the course has propelled the Patriots to eighth in the final NAIA Coaches' Poll of the fall.  Cumberlands will now turn their attention to the spring season, which will kickoff in March.
