Marion, IN –
Raegan Granville,
Dymanique Thompson, and
Lydia Le'Det post top-three finishes in their respective events to highlight the Patriots road trip to the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational this weekend.
Granville notched the highest placement of the weekend for the women's track and field team, placing second in pole vault. She tied the highest height reached of the day at 3.27 meters, previously passing through to 2.97 meters which she cleared in her first try. It took two tries to clear 3.12 meters and a single try at the winning height.
The mark is Granville's second best of her indoor career, narrowly short of her previous best set prior to the new year at the Strive for Greatness Invite at 3.30 meters. That mark holds her at the #15 spot in the NAIA.
Thompson meanwhile noted the highest placement among the women competing in running events. She placed third overall in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.26. She qualified for the 200 meter finals on Friday night with a time of 26.77 seconds, improving by a hair to 27.76 seconds a day later, placing sixth overall.
Le'Det chalked up third in triple jump, following last meet's performance with a mark of 10.47 meters. Her previous mark remains her best of the season, keeping her at #14 in the NAIA pending this weekend's results. Le'Det also noted a jump of 4.25 as her best of Friday in long jump.
Fifteen laps around the 200-meter flat track at the Troyer Fieldhouse,
Lauren McHan placed sixth in the 3,000 meter run as the sole distance runner to compete for the Patriots this weekend. The finishing clock showed 11:07.63 across the line. McHan currently holds as a top-ten ranked runner in the event in the NAIA.
In the 600 meters,
Cora Stevens noted a top-eight finish once again with a time of 1:45.70. She remains in the top-16 for the event with her previous best set in November.
Hailey Martin tabbed the sixth qualification for Saturday's 60 meter hurdles finals with a time of 10.33 seconds. She did not, however, record a time in the finals.
Following Thompson in the 200 meters was
Kathryn Hunter, ninth, with a time of 27.15 seconds and
Ayani Hison with a time of 28.94 seconds.
Patriots track & field will travel to Fort Wayne, IN for the second time this season for Friday's Warrior Invite, hosted by Indiana Tech.
