Georgetown, KY - The Cumberlands men's golf team secured a fifth-place finish at the Georgetown College Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
Gustav Barden noted a tied for second overall finish on the individual leaderboard after he carded a score of 144 (E) across 36-holes during the tournament. During the final round on Tuesday, Barden tallied two birdies and twelve pars to lead UC on day two. One of his birdies came on a 533 yard par five, where he only needed four strokes to reach the pin. This is the second straight tournament that Barden has shot a 144 (E) and notched a top-five finish.
Jarryd Elliott showed improvement on day two as he clubbed a score of 73 (+1) in the final round. The round gives him an overall tournament score of 150 (+6) to help him earn a share of 13
th overall on the individual leaderboard. Elliott's back nine holes on day two were his best of the tournament. The sophomore carded two birdies and six pars to notch him at 35 (-1) on the back nine.
Imanol Camba finished 29
th on the individual leaderboard at the Georgetown College Fall Invitational. Camba's best round came on day one where he cared a 75 (+3). The junior tallied an eagle on the longest hole on the course on day one. On the 572 yard par five, Camba only needed four strokes to reach the pin. On day two the Bilbao, Spain native tallied seven pars and two birdies to finish with a 36 hole score of 157 (+13).
Juan Murube improved on day two of the tournament to earn a share of 31
st on the individual leaderboard. Murube managed to tally a birdie and four straight pars on the back nine to notch a second round score of 78 (+6).
Jaime Crispi finished the tournament with a two round score of 160 (+16). Crispi shot well on hole 14 of the course, as both days he carded a birdie on the hole. The 14
th hole was also the longest hole of the course. Across two days, the freshman tallied four birdies and 15 pars to finished 36
th on the individual leaderboard.
Both Jose Hurtago and Luis Ruiz competed as individuals at the Georgetown College Fall Invitational. Hurtago finished 37
th on the individual leaderboard after carding a 36 hole score of 161 (+17). Ruiz finished 43
rd on the individual leaderboarded after tallying a score of 168 (+24) across the two day tournament.
Cumberlands will look to bounce back as they head to Shepherdsville, KY on Monday for the LTU Heritage Hill Collegiate.
