Bowling Green, KY - The Patriots women's cross country team had eight runners named to the MSC Academic All-Conference list, announced by the conference office on Wednesday. In addition, Lauren McHan was named UC's representative for the Champions of Character team. UC finished with the second most honorees behind Georgetown's 12 winners.
 
Senior Lauren McHan found her name on this list for the fourth season in a row. Kinsey Forgey and Tara Todd have earned this award three times while Jenna Grogan, Taylor Warren, and Samantha Connelly find themselves on this list for a second consecutive season. Freshmen Hannah Henage and Morgan Lucason round out the Patriot honorees with their first Academic All-Conference selection.
 
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.
 
The MSC recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
 
Cumberlands heads into the conference championships on Friday as the favorite to win after leading the conference rankings all year. The Patriots look to win their second MSC title in a row and go back to the NAIA Nationals Championships. The race is slated for 12:00 pm CT on Friday in Bowling Green, KY.
