CoSIDA Academic All-Americas

Austin, TX – Continuing his excellence on the field and in the classroom awards Tommaso Ogliari a spot on the College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® team, announced by CoSIDA on Tuesday. Having one of the top GPAs combined with his efforts on the field garnered Ogliari Second Team honors.

The Crema, Italy native is a Business Administration major in his second year at Cumberlands. Earlier this season he was awarded CoSIDA Academic All-District ® honors as well as Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference honors.

On the pitch, Ogliari started and played in 19 games and earned MSC Honorable Mention. He dished out five assists for fourth most on the team. As a defender he helped UC to four shutouts and holding opposing offenses to just 12.7 shots per game with just 1.25 of those being on frame.

UC had another successful season going 11-6-3, making it to the MSC Tournament Championship for the second straight year and making it to the NAIA Opening Round for the third straight season.

This marks the second season in a row and the second all time that a Patriot has earned the accolade with Sergio Infantes Castell making First Team last year.

Out of all of the men's soccer players in the NAIA, only 22 earned Academic All-America® status this season. Ogliari was the only one to garner the award from the Mid-South Conference.

To be eligible for this award a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.30.  They also have played in at least 50% of its team's games as well as be a contributor on the field. There are 22 student-athletes on the Academic All-America list with 11 on both First and Second Team.
