Granville, Voyles, and Grogan Lead the Pack at Indiana Tech

2/13/2021 7:57:00 PM

Fort Wayne, IN Raegan Granville, Lisa Voyles, and Jenna Grogan once again led the Patriot performances in Indiana, all three noting B-Standard marks to move up in the NAIA rankings.

Granville will likely see the biggest move in the rankings, showing a top-16 performance this weekend in pole vault after closing in on it through her senior season. She placed second overall in the event; she and the top finisher both clearing 3.45 meters. The mark is a 0.15-meter improvement for Granville this season. In addition to bumping her school record higher, it is her career best across both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Lisa Voyles did not note a personal best in the mile, but she did note a B-Standard time of 5:11.92, about a second off from her career best. She bronzed in the event; it was the second time this season she placed top-five in the mile.

Jenna Grogan was the third women's finisher to cross the line in the 3,000-meter racewalk, seeing almost two minutes of improvement since her last showing in the event at the Turnstone Center. She paced 17:41.69 to set a new personal best. Since first entering the event last season at the MSC Championships, Grogan has improved by three minutes and 18 seconds.  That time was also a B-Standard for the sophomore, who currently is ranked 11th in the NAIA.

In the 3,000 meters, Lauren McHan noted time of 10:52.52, her second-best performance of the season in the distance event. Following her sixth-place finish was Meredith Elstun and Taylor Warren, both tabbing season bests. Elstun improved by about 10 seconds from last week to 11:03.29. Warren improved as well by about 15 seconds to 11:20.74.

A pair of Patriots finished in the top-eight of the 600 meters. Team-leader for Cumberlands Cora Stevens paced just shy of a new best, clocking 1:42.20 for fourth place. Alisa Bowling followed in in eighth overall after clocking 1:47.06.

Kathryn Hunter led a group of Patriots in the 60-meter dash, the sole Cumberlands sprinter to qualify for the finals. In the prelims, she topped the squad with a time of 7.95 seconds, registering 8.10 seconds in the finals. The fastest time was not far off a standard for the second-year Patriot, only 0.1 away. Des Linville clocked 8.80 seconds down the stretch while Serenity Bailey clocked 8.81 seconds.

Hunter showed up to do some damage in the 200 meters as well, registering a time o 26.45 seconds. The time is a half-second off a B-standard. Bailey and Linville followed once again, finishing at 28.75 and 30.09 seconds respectively.

Summer Travis continued to lead the Patriots throwing crew. Her mark of 10.55 meters was enough for seventh place overall. Delores Stevenson followed in 11th with a day's best toss of 9.72 meters.

Hannah Henage noted her second showing of the season. Following up on a debut in the 3,000 meters last week, she placed ninth overall in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:37.08.

Megan McMannon paced 1:02.60 in the 400 meters, a consistent time compared to the previous times registered this season. It sits less than a second from her best time of the year.

At the jumping pits, Lydia Le'Det chalked 4.79 meters in long jump and 10.02 meters in triple jump.
