Louisville, KY – Patriots women's track and field noted eight performances placing third or better at the Kentucky Collegiate Indoor Invitational on Saturday. Leading the way was
Lisa Voyles with a first-place finish in the 1,000 meters and
Summer Travis winning shot put.
Voyles noted a new personal best in the 1,000 meters, breaking the three-minute benchmark for the first time with a time of 2:57.97. The time registered as the sophomore's first A-standard of her career, likely boosting her into the top-six of the event in the NAIA. She qualified for the national meet in the event last season.
Kinsey Forgey followed Voyles in the 3,000 meters to place third overall with a time of 3:18.38. It is her second top-four finish in the event in the 2021 season.
Travis meanwhile led the shot put field with a throw of 11.98 meters, her second time winning the event this season. It was Travis' best mark to date in shot put.
Travis went on to place third overall in weight throw as well, measuring 15.10 meters out of the ring for a second-best distance of the season.
Delores Stevenson followed with ninth place finishes in both events, a personal best mark of 12.25 meters in weight throw and 10.31 meters in shot put.

Raegan Granville continued to dominate pole vault field, leading NAIA competitors on Saturday. She finished second overall after clearing 3.21 meters.
Lydia Le'Det saw the podium in a pair of events. In triple jump, the boasted a 10.49-meter mark for third overall. In addition to the bronze finish, she noted a personal best in long jump measuring 4.86 meters off the board. It was a .07-meter improvement for the rookie.
In the 60-meter dash,
Kathryn Hunter improved her prelim time of 7.97 seconds to 7.95 for a third-place finish. In the prelims, Serenity Bailey and Des Linville recorded times of 8.71 and 8.88 seconds, respectively.
The final third-place finish of the day was claimed by
Cora Stevens, who edged a B-standard with her 1:40.18 finish. The time is a new career best for the junior, improving her previous best set at the first meet of the 2021 season.
Alisa Bowling also competed in the event, recording a time of 1:49.73.
Hailey Martin's fastest time of the day in the 60-meter hurdles came in the prelims, noting 9.85 ticks to get down the stretch. It is her third fastest time of the season. She followed with a 9.97-second showing for fourth place in the finals.
Victoria Salazar cleared her first height of the season in high jump, cleanly getting over 1.25 meters to place fifth.
Two Patriots picked up placements in the 3,000 meters.
Lauren McHan and
Meredith Elstun worked together to finish sixth and seventh with times of 11:08.30 and 11:08.88.
Hannah Henage noted a 11:47.19 performance in her first showing in the event.
Taylor Warren led the women's team's showing in the 5,000 meters with a seventh-place finish. Her time of 19:25.40 looks to be a good benchmark for the sophomore after completing the 25-turn event for the first time in her career.
Tara Todd and
Samantha Connelly followed in the event, registering times of 20:36.68 and 21:47.04.
Megan McManon was the lone Patriot sprinter in the 400 meters, clocking 1:02.94.
In the Bailey led a trio of Patriot performances with a time of 28.26. Bowling clocked 28.45 seconds and Linville clocked 29.85 seconds.
